American Youth Soccer Organization Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.

Become a volunteer for the AYSO 232 Regional Board or for one of its programs.

Our Region currently offers a Core Program in the Fall, as well as an Alliance Club Program from November to July.

While our Core Program (aka Recreation Program) is delivered in the Fall, Volunteers are needed as early as March to begin planning and administrative duties. Because our Core Program serves Camp Verde, Cottonwood, Sedona, Clarkdale, Jerome, Rimrock, Cornville, the VOC, and other surrounding areas; we are met with unique challenges that require collaboration across communities as well as passionate volunteers to help administer weekly practice schedules, Coach and Referee Training & program management, and Saturday game activities.

We invite you to become part of something bigger than yourself by joining our volunteer team. To see open volunteer opportunities, simply create or log in to your account at ayso232.org, browse the list of available volunteer positions, and sign up for the one that fits you best. Following your registration, you will receive an email with further instructions on the next steps. This is your chance to not only support youth sports in your community but also to develop new skills, meet like-minded individuals, and have a positively enriching experience. Join us today, and together, we can make future Soccer Season unforgettable for everyone involved.

Our Alliance Program delivers on the purpose of supporting the AYSO player development pathway to the highest levels of play. It is an integral part of the AYSO Club program potential progression to AYSO United. With team tryouts taking place in the Winter, Alliance Players are encouraged to participate in the Core Program as, either, a player or a youth volunteer. Alliance player volunteers increase their knowledge of the game by volunteering as youth referees and participating in regional skills camps.

What to Expect After Volunteering with AYSO 232

Once you've completed your application to volunteer with AYSO 232, there are a few critical next steps to ensure you're fully prepared and compliant with our requirements to provide a safe environment for our soccer community:

  1. Background Check: Expect an email from [email protected] with a link to complete your background check. It's crucial to act promptly as processing can take up to 10 business days, with self-disclosures potentially adding another 5. This is a vital step to maintain the safety and integrity within our community. Failure to complete a background check disqualifies you from serving in any volunteer position within the Region.

  2. Training Access: Upon volunteering, you will gain access to essential training materials. Click Here for resources related to AYSOU, including how to access AYSOU

  3. Safesport Training: To complete your free Safesport training, enhancing your AYSO status, register through the link provided. The results will automatically update your profile within about 2 hours, streamlining the process.

  4. Coaching Requirements:  For the protection of the players, volunteers, and participants, we require all AYSO volunteers to complete the state and Federally mandated safety training. Click Here for the coaching specific training offered to you by our Regional Board Volunteers. Coach_Training Matrix

  5. Additional Users: If you've added an additional user or if you are one, make sure to accept the Sports Connect email invitation to set up your access and complete necessary training

Reminders:

  • Annual registration in our national database is mandatory for every volunteer to ensure player safety and volunteer protection under AYSO liability insurance.

  • Completing and submitting your background check no later than June 15, is imperative for you to be considered as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach.

  • Each volunteer role may require specific training, but there are mandatory requirements for all, including SafeSport and SafeHaven training on the AYSOU platform. A background check is not enough to ensure we are providing the safest and positive experience for our players and volunteers.

  • Specialized training for roles like head coaches and assistant coaches are outlined and must be completed before set deadlines.

Failure to meet these requirements by July 1st may impact our ability to offer the high-quality youth soccer program our families expect.

A volunteer will be able to see the SafeSport verification on the eligibility screen on their Sports Connect account.
